Memorial Day Parade 2022

Ridgefield Memorial Day Parade (5/30)

RLL will be marching in the Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30, and we are so happy to be back and would love to have all teams represented!

All players must attend in FULL UNIFORM (wear sneakers, not cleats).

Logistical Instructions for the Parade:

1.  Arrive no later than 10:45am in front of Jesse Lee Church (Main Street will be closed after this time). We will have lawn signs indicating where each division should line up, but also look for your designated Coaches.

2.  Parade starts at 11:30am.

3.  The parade ends at Ballard Park which gets very crowded at this time. Coaches: please have a specific designated area where families can pick up their players. Please remain in the area until all of your players have been reunited with a family member.

4.  Each team needs a manager or coach to accompany the players.  Teams will line up starting at the Main St. South entrance to the church in the following order:

  • Holland
  • Pee Wee
  • Tee Ball
  • Rookie
  • Single A
  • Double A
  • Triple A
  • Majors

Things to Note:

  • Parking could be scarce.  Plan to park earlier rather than later.
  • You might want to send a water bottle with your child, especially if it is a hot day.
  • Parents of younger divisions, feel free to march with your children.
  • Along with uniforms, any patriotic accesories are welcome!

IF IT RAINS ON MONDAY:  Any cancellation due to weather will not be made until Monday morning (8:30am at the latest).  Please check The Press website, www.theridgefieldpress.com, or the Town website, www.ridgefieldct.org, for updates about the parade.

We look forward to seeing you MONDAY!

God Bless America!!

  • All participants who wish to be considered for District All-Stars must be registered by May 27th.  All participants interested in Summer Travel and Friendship teams from ages 8-12 MUST be registered by 6/2/2022.  Please note in your player's registration which level they are interested in playing and any other relevant information.
  • Sandlot registration will remain open through the end of July.

About Ridgefield Little League

Founded in 1954, Ridgefield Little League is Ridgefield’s oldest youth sports organization.  RLL has grown tremendously over the last 60+ years, starting with 6 teams to now serving over 500 boys and girls on over 80 teams from T-ball to Majors and the Holland Division. Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, RLL’s mission has been to assist youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. The Little League program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than stellar athletes. This mission is instilled under the leadership of over 300 volunteers who help administer the program annually; from the Board of Directors and coaches to those who run the annual pancake breakfast.

The league is 100% self-sufficient and has not conducted additional fundraisers to cover operating expenses.  RLL relies upon strong, long-term relationships with local sponsors. In 2016, Community Center, Lion’s Club, Rotary Club, Squash’s and Pamby Motors all marked 30+ years as RLL sponsors.
